I finished the course Policy01x: Solving Public Policy Problems: UC Berkeley’s Eightfold Path offered by University of California, Berkeley. The certificate was issued on 3 June 2017.
ABOUT THE COURSE
(from the edX website – details accessible if with edX account)
This is a course devoted toward improving how you think about public policy problems. The goal is for you to learn a step-by-step method – which we call the Eightfold Path – for defining such problems, analyzing them, and identifying ways to address them successfully. We will walk through all eight steps of this method gradually. By the time you complete this course you’ll be familiar with how this “policy analysis” method works and how it fits into policymaking systems generally.
The Eightfold Path is a practical approach for policy work. That’s why we decided to start immediately with a case-specific example of policy thinking. In this unit you’ll hear from a policy expert, read background material, and observe how public policy problems are best framed for analysis. Policy work really comes to life when we consider specific applications as targets for adaptable methods like the Eightfold Path.
